The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Lagos state, Dr Abdulazeez Adediran (Jandor) has assured traditional worshipers in the state that he would legalise the observation of Isese Day if elected in 2023.
Adediran said his administration would honour and treat all religions equally and won’t be sentimental in his relationship with the leaders, adding that August 20 would be legally honoured as Isese Day celebration as done in other South-west states.
He gave this assurance when he visited members of the Odua People’s Congress (OPC) in Apapa Iganmu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos.
The PDP governorship candidate explained that he was a foundation member of the group and that he had contributed immensely to its development since inception.
“I want to inform this gathering that I was a foundation member of the OPC and still a corporate member. This governorship contest is your project which we must actualise. I will like to inform you that before the commencement of this journey, I had met with our leader and Aare Ona Kankafo, Iba Gani Adams in his Omole house for blessing. I am not here for campaign but to congratulate you that one of you will become the 16th governor of Lagos in 2023,” he said.
Receiving the governorship candidate and his entourage, the chairman of OPC in Apapa Iganmu, Com. Lukmon Usman, said his visit was a morale booster and that they were happy that they had one of their own in the governorship race.
