Popular Nigeria business man know as Oluwaniyi Toyin query Buhari’s Government of how things is hard for them in the private sector.
He identified inflation and the hike in the prices of goods and services in the past few months as the major causes of their predicament.
According to him, the economic recession has affected a lot of homes, as some consumers can no longer afford the normal quantity of items they used to buy, due to their soaring prices.
He Said:
“Seriously this is not the best timr for we business owner, Imagine a carton of paper now 30k. How will I survive this, i have to pay 300k for 10 cartons, how much i dey make. It’s like customers go dey write thier games on thier hand. Seriously a lot of bills will not be attended to”
“Someone said i don’t give money like before again. Well i laugh, it might be so, now i help people with dreams and add value to them to make them more comfortable and stop looking so cheap with 2k to 5k. Also there mighy be lot of factors that change lot of things. Aside from people don’t appreciate, they just know you when you do but when they can’t get again then forget the old good days when you are the one that help them and thier families”
“Also the rate of inflation is so high that businesses hardly survive in Nigeria. Let me compare 7years ago and now. Cost of paper then is 17,500 now 30k. Printer the 12k now 32k. Fuel then is like 85 per liter now is 230-260. Shop rent, generator etc. Funny thing is commission still the same from them till now”
“Government are not helping, More and more tax are coming up, from income tax, Local Government tax, Agent fee, Gacius Emoson tax, Environment Tax, signage Tax, Commerce and industry tax. There is one again I can’t remember. All this on one agent to pay”
“Seriously it’s getting funny and when God want to punish you. He now gave you staff that knows how to mess with ur money, Like playing fast bet with it. Or run away with it. Village people self fit put matter for ur business. So no be small war business man dey face to survive. If you see one that is still normal this days. Huge him say a good word to him or her. Business is not smiling again”
“For me to complain this much, what will an ordinary agent do. I feel thier pain. Nobody is coming to help us. Not even the next president come 2023. We are in the state of comatose. Prayer don’t solve it, Fasting don’t, You just need to crack your brain out, Why i no go get BP”
