Former Paris Saint-Germain winger, Jerome Rothen, has tackled Neymar after the Brazilian forward claimed that the 2022 World Cup in Qatar
Neymar, who netted 69 goals and won the Confederations Cup in 2013 and the Olympic Gold in 2016, had stated this in a new documentary titled “Neymar & The Line of Kings’.
The 29-year-old made his debut for the Selecao as an 18-year-old in 2010.
He has since racked up 113 appearances for his country.
Reacting to the development, Rothen believes Neymar’s statement was terrible for PSG, adding that the former Barcelona star should not have said that, having extended his contract with Mauricio Pochettino’s side recently.
“It’s a terrible statement for PSG. When you read between the lines, PSG doesn’t care. There is the love he has for Brazil, to try to win a World Cup.
“His last chance will be in Qatar a year from now. But I want to remind him of his homework. When you are a player in this category, that you have been the emblematic figure of a club for more than four years, that you have extended for five years and that you have decided to end your career at PSG, you can’t say that,” Rothen told RMC Sport.
